Vienna Attractions

In this ancient and contemporary Austrian capital city, some wonderful Vienna attractions are found amidst the hustle and bustle of this city of 1.7 million, notably in the city’s beautiful and historic Stephansplatz or Old Town, on the UNESCO World Heritage List. 

In addition to the famous St. Stephen’s Cathedral dating from the 1200’s, landmarks include the Kunsthalle and Generali Foundation museums.  Also not to be missed are the Christmas markets, like Rahaus and its huge Christmas tree and ice skating in the wintertime, quintessential Austria.  The exclusive Spittelberg quarter and its cobblestone streets and beautiful 18th Century homes should not be missed. The Simmering district has a collection of the city’s most picturesque buildings and exclusive shops and boutiques including the Gasometer for shopping.  For a wonderful traditional display of quintessential Bavarian culture, make plans for the Innere Stadt or Inner City.
