Whether you’re looking for a classic local brewpub or a sophisticated cocktail bar, there is no shortage of bars in Vienna. From traditional Irish pubs to Austrian wine bars, Vienna offers up some of the best nightlife in Europe. Check out these bars in Vienna for a guaranteed excellent night on the town:

Seven Cocktails: The name of this cocktail bar is dramatically misleading. Of the many bars in Vienna, this is one worth stopping into for a special treat. There are many more than “seven cocktails” to choose from -- over 400, in fact. Be sure to stop by during happy hour, which goes down Monday through Saturday 4:30pm to 8pm. Ladies night is Thursday.

Wunderbar: Looking for a quieter spot where you can chill out with some friends over a few beers? Wunderbar has you covered. Beer on tap and a simple cocktail list make this a low-key pub perfect for a low-key night. Grab a seat on one of the comfortable leather couches and you’re well on your way to an enjoyable night in Vienna.

Wein & Wasser: Literally meaning “Wine & Water” (adapted from a Goethe quote), this bar in Vienna tends to focus more on the former. The menu boasts over 20 local wines, and the friendly staff will be happy to walk you through your options. If you’re looking for a bar with character and a hearty selection of Austrian wines (outside of a Heuriger, that is) then be sure to spot into this spot.

Bermuda Bräu: Beer lovers will find their home at the Bermuda Bräu. This local pub is named as such for its location in the city’s “Bermuda Triangle,” a popular nightlife area in the city center. If you’re looking for bars in Vienna serving up typical Austrian pints, this is definitely a spot to check out.

Flanagans: No matter where you go around the world, you can always count on a good ol’ Irish pub for a fun time. This rule holds true in the Irish bars in Vienna, too. Flanagans is one the best -- it was even voted as such in 2004. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a Dublin bar when you walk through the door -- that includes the mandatory Guinness, of course.

Alcazar: With an enticing list of cocktails and a swanky 1940s atmosphere, this popular nightlife spot is sure to keep visitors coming back. Serving up over 100 different concoctions, the bartenders know their craft well. Sip on something delicious while taking in the cool ambiance and enjoying the smooth sounds that pump through the speakers.

Plutzer Bräu: Another one of the fabulous beer bars in Vienna is Plutzer Bräu, a local favorite. This pub-style bar and restaurant serves up a selection of home-brewed beers, providing typical Austrian options for travelers and locals alike.
